The Larger the Carat, the Higher the Value

Carat is a measure of weight for diamonds and precious stones. A carat is the equivalent of 200 milligrams.

Carats, however, are broken down into 100 points per carat. This allows for more precise size measurements, and more accurate diamond valuations.

The weight in carats of a diamond do have an impact on price, all else equal, but the other “C’s” typically influence the pricing more significantly. In other words, bigger stones aren’t necessarily more valuable.
