The Less Color, the Better the “Color”

When it comes to diamond color, we aren’t talking about those special blue or pink diamonds here. In diamond grading, you’re looking for an absence of color for the highest rated diamonds. A completely pure diamond has no hue, and the highest value.

The GIA grading system measures the degree of colorlessness from colorless to light, on a D-Z scale (D being the best, Z being the worst). The grading also has a large impact on the quality of the diamond and the price that it will fetch. An experienced diamond professional is needed to properly grade the color of a diamond.
